The Baillod name has been part of Neuchâtel’s watchmaking history for generations.

First traced in the region in 1341, it entered official watchmaking records in 1775. Two and a half centuries later, Thomas Baillod gave the family name a new expression with BA111OD.

Not to reproduce the past, but to build on it differently.

Centuries later, in 1775, the name enters the watchmaking records of the canton of Neuchâtel, marking the beginning of a story that now spans over 250 years of Baillod watchmaking.

A POCKET WATCH FROM THE END OF THE 19TH CENTURY

Among the pieces preserved from the family story is a pocket watch signed Charles Baillod and dating from the end of the 19th century.

More than an archival reference, it is a tangible connection to generations of watchmaking that came before BA111OD.

THE MAN BEHIND BA111OD
THOMAS BAILLOD

Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds and deeply connected to Neuchâtel’s watchmaking world, Thomas Baillod spent years inside the industry before deciding to challenge some of its established rules.

 

His idea was simple but ambitious: exceptional Swiss watchmaking could be technically credible, creatively bold and more accessible without losing its substance.

 

In 2019, that conviction became BA111OD.

What began as an experiment in rethinking watch distribution quickly developed into an independent Swiss watch brand with its own design language, community and increasingly ambitious approach to mechanical watchmaking.

THE BIRTH OF BA111OD

BA111OD was officially launched on 11 October 2019 at 11:10.

The brand began in Thomas Baillod’s garage as an experimental platform built around a different way of thinking about watch distribution.

 

Instead of simply reproducing the traditional model, Thomas developed We-commerce: a more direct and participative approach in which customers could become active contributors to the growth of the brand.

 

It placed people, recommendation and community at the centre of BA111OD from the very beginning.

FROM WE-COMMERCE TO CLUB 11:10

The idea behind We-commerce has evolved, but its principle remains the same: a watch brand can build a closer relationship with the people who believe in it.

 

Today, that philosophy lives through Club 11:10, the BA111OD community where collectors, enthusiasts and friends of the brand gain access to experiences, advantages and a closer connection to our world.

 

Because for BA111OD, independence has never meant building alone.

A NEW CHAPTER IN WATCHMAKING EXPERTISE

In 2026, Thomas Baillod acquired BCP Tourbillons, strengthening BA111OD’s technical capabilities and marking a new chapter in the brand’s development. Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds and led by watchmaker and movement designer Olivier Mory, BCP brings expertise in movement development and high complications directly into the BA111OD ecosystem.

 

The acquisition gives BA111OD greater freedom to develop its own technical solutions, explore new complications and push its watchmaking ambitions further. BCP Tourbillons now acts as a laboratory of ideas, supporting the brand’s evolution while preserving the creative independence and expertise that define the workshop.
