Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite: When Transparency Becomes Architecture
Transparency is not a trend. It is a language.
With the new Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite, BA111OD brings this language into a sharper, darker and more architectural expression. Through its openworked dial, the watch reveals what is usually hidden: the movement, the mechanics, the energy of time in motion.
But this is not transparency for spectacle. The Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite was designed to create a dialogue between structure and emotion. A Swiss Made automatic skeleton watch made for everyday life, yet strong enough to leave a real presence on the wrist.
A darker expression of the Chapter 7
The Chapter 7 has always carried BA111OD’s vision of contemporary sport-chic watchmaking: a strong silhouette, integrated design and a confident approach to Swiss Made mechanical watchmaking.
With the Skeleton Anthracite, this identity becomes more intense.
The 40 mm stainless steel case is treated with anthracite PVD, giving the watch a darker, more urban and more contemporary character. Its faceted bezel plays with light through satin-brushed and polished surfaces, creating tension between shadow and reflection.
Integrated into the design, the case and bracelet form a continuous line around the wrist. The result is a watch that feels structured, fluid and assertive at once. It is mechanical elegance, but with attitude.
The skeleton dial as a design language
A skeleton watch is often defined by what it reveals. For BA111OD, the question was different: how should transparency be designed?
The dial of the Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite is built as an architectural composition. Vertical brushing gives structure. Polished bevels catch the light. Sandblasted surfaces between the indexes bring depth and texture. Around the rubies, the openworked construction reveals the movement beneath, turning the mechanics into a defining part of the watch’s identity.
Every opening has a purpose. Every surface has been considered. The skeletonized dial is not simply decorative, it creates rhythm, depth and visual balance.
This is where the watch finds its character: in the tension between the geometric strength of the case and the living expression of the movement.
Designed by Liliane Murenzi
Entirely designed in-house by Liliane Murenzi, BA111OD’s Head of Design, the Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite reflects a precise design intention: to connect the architectural rigor of the case with the organic movement beneath the dial.
As she explains:
“For the Chapter 7 Skeleton, the challenge was to design a dial capable of harmonising the architectural rigour and tension of the case with the more organic, living expression of the movement. The dial creates this connection, softening certain tensions while preserving the strength of the piece. It is this balance between structure and fluidity that gives the watch its elegance and character.”
This balance is what gives the watch its visual identity. It is sharp, but not cold. Technical, but not distant. Open, but still controlled.
Swiss automatic mechanics, revealed
At the heart of the Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite beats the Soprod P024 automatic movement, selected as part of BA111OD’s commitment to working with trusted Swiss partners.
Visible through the openworked dial and transparent caseback, the movement brings mechanical depth to the watch while preserving the reliability expected from a Swiss Made automatic timepiece.
The result is not just a skeleton dial over a movement. It is a more direct relationship with time. You can observe the mechanics. You can follow the energy. You can see the watch come alive.
Designed and assembled in Neuchâtel
The Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite was designed in-house and assembled in BA111OD’s workshop in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
This matters because it reflects the way BA111OD creates: directly, creatively and with a strong connection between design, development and assembly. Every line, finish and opening has been considered to reveal the movement with clarity, while preserving the strength, comfort and everyday character of the Chapter 7.
It is Swiss Made watchmaking with substance and intention, shaped by a distinctly BA111OD spirit.
Built for everyday life
Despite its technical expression, the Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite remains a watch designed for everyday wear.
The integrated stainless steel bracelet reinforces the architecture of the case and gives the watch a powerful, urban presence. Its tool-free micro-adjustment system allows the wearer to fine-tune the fit in seconds, without tools.
This detail makes the watch easier to live with throughout the day. It also reflects BA111OD’s belief that mechanical watchmaking should not only be admired, but worn.
A contemporary Swiss Made skeleton watch
With its anthracite PVD case, openworked dial, Swiss automatic movement and integrated bracelet, the Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite embodies a contemporary form of mechanical elegance.
It is bold without being excessive. Refined without being traditional. Technical without losing emotion.
More than a skeleton watch, it is a statement of transparency, architecture and character.
The Chapter 7 Skeleton Anthracite is available now, with the first 25 pieces in stock and next deliveries expected from the end of June.
