TIMEKEEPER'S GUIDE
A watch is more than just a stylish accessory. It’s a beautifully crafted marvel of engineering and artistry. Each of our timepieces is hand-assembled, paying careful attention to every intricate detail. Within each watch lies a delicate assembly of gears, springs, and cogs, working seamlessly together to keep accurate time.
However, even though our watches are designed for daily use, they are delicate pieces of craftsmanship. Proper care and handling are essential to ensure their optimal functionality and longevity. To assist you in understanding and caring for your precious timepiece, we provide a series of FAQ & Tips. This resource is here to help you get acquainted with your watch's features and care requirements, ensuring it remains a cherished possession for years to come.
BA111OD specializes in mechanical watches. It's crucial to understand the difference between our automatic mechanical watches, which operate based on daily movements. These timepieces continually recharge themselves using an oscillating weight at the back of the watch.
On the other hand, our Chapter 4. Tourbillon collection features manual mechanical watches. Unlike the automatic variants, these manual timepieces do not have an oscillating weight and thus, need to be manually wound periodically using the crown to function optimally.
This distinction ensures that you choose a watch that aligns perfectly with your lifestyle and preferences.
An automatic mechanical watch consistently recharges itself with your daily movements. However, it’s crucial to note that even with everyday use, day-to-day movements may not fully recharge the watch to ensure the intended power reserve. That’s why it’s essential to occasionally manually wind the crown to fully charge the mechanism. The procedure is straightforward:
- Let the crown rest against the watch case.
- Turn the crown upwards with your thumb.
- You’re now manually winding the watch and may hear a slight noise.
- To fully recharge the movement, make about forty turns.
This simple practice ensures your watch operates with optimal precision, reflecting the exceptional quality and reliability of your BA111OD timepiece.
Manual watches absolutely require winding through the crown. When your watch is nearing the end of its power reserve, the mechanism may lose full performance and could start to lag. Hence, it's crucial to wind it occasionally while it’s working to prevent it from stopping.
Here's how you can do it:
- Let the crown rest against the watch case.
- Wind the movement by turning the crown upwards using your thumb.
Unlike automatic movements, with manual movements, you will feel a noticeable pressure when the movement is fully wound. Once your watch is completely charged, avoid further winding as it risks damaging the movement. This tactile indication helps to ensure the longevity and precision operation of your cherished manual BA111OD watch.
The power reserve is a figure that tells you how long your watch should operate once it's fully wound. This number lets you know how much time your watch will continue to function, even if you're not wearing it (for automatic watches). For manual mechanical movements, it indicates the operating time of your watch before it will gradually stop and will need to be wound again using the crown.
Some of our crystals and straps have integrated NFC chips, or Near Field Communication, is a technology allowing to exchange information between a reader and a compatible mobile terminal. The advantage of this technology is that in principle, no application is required. You just have to bring the two supports closer, less than 1 cm.

In terms of a watch's water resistance, the mention of ATM on the back of your watch relates to the term “Atmospheres.” It’s a unit of measurement used to indicate the depth under water a watch can be submerged while remaining water-resistant. However, this does not mean that your 5 ATM watch allows you to dive 50 meters without it experiencing the effects of pressurization in a real environment.
To better understand your watch’s water resistance, refer to guidelines and charts that detail what activities your watch can and cannot withstand based on the number of ATMs. This information ensures you can enjoy your BA111OD watch in various environments while preserving its integrity and functionality.
Moisture, sweat, and water don’t significantly impact your watch strap, but they can accelerate its wear and tear. It's important to note that our watch warranty does not cover the straps. To attach a new strap:
- Insert one side of the bar into one of the holes of the lug.
- Then, pull the bar to fit the other side.
- Once done, find the other hole on the side that needs to be inserted.
- You will hear a slight noise indicating that the spring of the easy-clip system has expanded.
Now, your new strap is on your precious timepiece. This convenient feature ensures that your BA111OD watch can seamlessly adapt to your style changes and wear preferences, keeping it as versatile and functional as you need it to be.

Protect the leather straps from elements like water, sweat, and humidity, as well as grease, perfume, and chemical or cosmetic products. Make sure to limit their exposure to the sun to preserve their luster and suppleness over time.
