In 2019, BA111OD was founded with a bold vision: to revolutionize the watch industry by blending heritage with innovation, while staying deeply connected to Neuchâtel, the cradle of Swiss watchmaking. With a family watchmaking heritage dating back to 1775, the Baillod family has long been a part of this tradition. Five years later, the brand marks this milestone with a trilogy of exceptional timepieces that celebrate its origins and the region's rich horological history.
The Trilogy: A Tribute to Neuchâtel, Nature, and Watchmaking Art
For its 5th anniversary, BA111OD has unveiled three extraordinary watches, each featuring a unique hand-painted dial that tells a story of the region. Each dial is based on a skyline sketch by artist Célestine Sahli, meticulously hand-painted by Atelier Blandenier, ensuring every piece is a true work of art.
Chapitre 4.12 “Neuchâtel” Tourbillon
The first chapter in this trilogy is dedicated to Neuchâtel itself. This timepiece showcases a beautifully detailed miniature painting of the city's skyline, a tribute to the brand’s birthplace and its deeply rooted watchmaking tradition. The intricate painting and craftsmanship embody the spirit of Neuchâtel and its legacy in horology.
The Creux du Van Edition
The second piece is inspired by the awe-inspiring Creux du Van, a natural amphitheater in the Neuchâtel Jura. Representing adventure, liberty, and daring spirit, this watch captures the raw beauty of the region through a meticulously hand-painted representation of the landscape. This model symbolizes BA111OD's commitment to bold design and the harmony between nature and horology.
The La Chaux-de-Fonds Métiers d’Art Tourbillon
The trilogy concludes with a tribute to La Chaux-de-Fonds, a city synonymous with Swiss watchmaking excellence. This timepiece showcases a hand-painted dial featuring the iconic skyline of La Chaux-de-Fonds. While its Neuchâtel branding has sparked lighthearted discussion, BA111OD has embraced the conversation, offering collectors the option to personalize their dials with "La Tchaux" or "La Chaux-de-Fonds" to celebrate their connection to the region.
