More than just a timepiece, this edition honors the exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless legacy that make this city a cornerstone of Neuchâtel’s watchmaking heritage.
A Bold Journey Rooted in Neuchâtel's Horological Heritage
Five years ago, in the heart of Neuchâtel, founder Thomas Baillod turned his dream into reality, launching BA111OD with nothing but his vision and the power of LinkedIn. His goal was to disrupt the traditional watchmaking industry with a bold and innovative approach. Through sheer determination, Thomas established BA111OD as a brand that champions inclusivity, making Swiss horology accessible to a new generation of enthusiasts.
However, the story of BA111OD goes beyond innovation. Thomas later uncovered a family legacy in watchmaking, dating back to 1775, with his ancestor Ulysse Baillod playing a significant role in the local industry. This deep-rooted history solidified BA111OD’s place not only as a trailblazer in the modern watch world but also as a custodian of Neuchâtel's horological heritage.
A Masterpiece of Swiss Craftsmanship
Célestine Sahli, a talented sketch artist from Neuchâtel, was chosen to create the original artwork for this special timepiece. Her attention to detail and her deep connection to the city shine through in the delicate representation of Neuchâtel’s iconic skyline. Each stroke of her brush captures the charm and history of the region, making every watch a unique celebration of both art and heritage.
Inside the Chapter 4.12 "Neuchâtel" Tourbillon is a manually wound movement that beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Developed and produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds by the renowned watchmaker Olivier Mory, this exceptional tourbillon caliber features a cage that completes a full rotation every 60 seconds, enhancing precision. With an impressive power reserve of 105 hours—more than 4 days—this movement showcases the expertise and innovation of Swiss watchmaking, combining technical mastery with long-lasting performance.
At the heart of the Chapitre 4.12 lies the artistry of Atelier Blandenier, where tradition and innovation meet. The meticulous miniature painting of Neuchâtel’s skyline, done in acrylic, captures the essence of the city that gave birth to BA111OD. This hand-painted detail, along with the tourbillon complication, transforms the watch into both a timepiece and a piece of art.
This is just the beginning of BA111OD’s anniversary celebration.
