CHPTR_Δ

The first BA111OD manufactured complication

Get ready to be blown away, watch enthusiasts! BA111OD is proud to announce its very first manufactured watch complication, and it's unlike anything you've ever seen before.

REDEFINING TIME

Teaming up with the renowned watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds, Olivier Mory, we proudly present CHPTR_Δ (pronounced Chapter Delta), a watch that introduces a fascinating duality between circular minutes and hypocycloidal hours, enclosed in an eye-catching triangle on the dial. With this world premiere, the asymmetrical time-reading experience feels like a well-choreographed dance, slowing down and speeding up to symbolize the carousel of life. Get ready to experience time like never before with our 3 new models CHPTR_Δ.

NON-CIRCULAR EXPERIENCE OF TIME

Rather than simply rotating a hand around a central axis, the caliber was designed to have a satellite hour wheel "roll" around a fixed central hour wheel. When a wheel is rotated around another wheel, the path described by any point on that satellite wheel is a cycloid. There are several types of cycloids: in this new Chapter, the chosen cycloid is a deltoid (it has a ratio of 1/3) and thus the trajectory described by the end of the hour hand is a ... triangle!

MEET THE TRUE HEROES

Diego Böttger-Zevallos

BA111OD is accustomed to highlighting the artisans with whom the models are developed, and in this case he is no exception. We pay tribute to Diego Böttger-Zevallos, the original designer of the movement, with a Module 09310 inscription on the dial, which, when read backwards, offers a nice nod to this Neuchâtel native, since we can guess his first name.

Liliane Murenzi

As with the previous models, the design is by Liliane Murenzi, the Senior Designer of BA111OD. She is the one who gives the piece its racy character and highlights its DNA, thanks to a play of transparencies, asymmetries and subtle opening areas on the movement at different levels, bringing depth.

Olivier Mory

Working for a year on the technical development of the CHPTR_Δ, the watch designer from Chaux-de-Fonds, Olivier Mory, is also in charge of its production, while the assembly is carried out internally, as BA111OD has, since the fall of 2022, its own watchmaking workshop T2 (dial fitting, hands, casing) and T3 (strap fitting) in Neuchâtel.
